The Wisdom of Flowers 花的智慧

There is so much presence, beauty, energy, wisdom, stillness, integrity and LIFE in a flower.

It is being what it is – a flower. Nothing more, nothing less. So simple, yet so powerful.

Would you obsess about how you look?

Would you worry about what others think of you?

Would you judge and discriminate others?

Would you harm and control other beings?

Would you keep escaping into the past?

Would you fear the future?

Would you stress about all sorts of trivial matters?

Or would you just BE who you are, perfect as you are now?

A flower never tries to be what it isn’t.

It never claims to be something else other than itself.

A flower is simply being itself.

No pretentions, no desires, no expectations, no judgment,

never seeking approval from others.

Being purely individual, being just as it is makes it the more outstanding.

Its beauty continue to dazzle, its unique qualities shines through even more.

This is the power of being real, being ourselves.

However briefly fleeing a moment’s grace is,

it is worth every once of our appreciation.

When beauty, grace, peace and joy is in your presence,

hold it with both hands, savour every drop,

drink deeply from it as it nourishes every cell in your being.

Share this immense peace, love and inner joy with all those around you.

The flower shows us the beauty of Life – a continual cycle of birth and death. Both can be beautiful and peaceful as all forms are impermanent. Impermanence is Life. Life is a continual series of Change.

We can accept death as another form of a beautiful birth if we realize they are actually two sides of the same coin.

Ergo, death is not a suffering. Death is a dying of outdated, unnecessary conditions that doesn’t serve us anymore to make way for new, fresh beginnings.

Perhaps we can say birth plus death equals change. Without death, how else would birth be possible? Without birth and death existing in harmony, how could change happen? Fallen leaves and dried flowers decomposes in the earth to become food for the tree, new flowers and leaves then emerge when the conditions are ripe, and so this natural cycle continues to flow.

We have all heard the saying, “seasons change, people change”.

If a flower can accept change with such grace and integrity,

why can’t an intelligent, sophisticated life form like human beings do so too?

Often it is the impermanent nature of things

that makes it beautiful in the first place
