Where is your home? 你家在哪儿?

Someone recently asked me, “Where is your home?”. For herself, her home is where her daughter is.

How beautiful is that?

So is home really where the heart is? Can we be at home no matter where we are, no matter whatever situation? Is the ego preventing us from being at home, being at ease when we are in a challenged situation?

Someone who is fully present and connected to his/her true consciousness will remain calm and balanced at all times. Regardless of how challenging the situation is, there is always a sense of deep calm within that is grounding and stabilizing. It is this quiet stillness that yields true power, maturity, peace. As we surrender to the present moment, there is nothing else to fear or control or resist against. Whatever may happen will happen, and we allow the natural intelligence within us to flow through, taking care of whatever situation.

As we know, all is easier said than done. I can tell you true that it is very much possible to be at home, no matter where we are.

We can begin the process of coming home with our breath. Start by closing your eyes, take one breath at a time. No need to change or control anything, just let your breath be natural. Observe the magic of your breath within your body, how it affects your mood, mind, emotions. If you remain still and open enough, perhaps a beautiful wave of humble gratitude might even start to gently wash over you.

Enjoy this Spiritual Shower.

You are now home.

Welcome home.

This practice is so simple, yet so powerful.

This is the power of the breath. This is the power of you.

This short essay is dedicated to Marina, a wonderful lady with a Yogi heart. Thank you for asking me this beautiful question, for sharing your thoughts with me, for being you.

from my heart to yours,
